Debt and the electoral roll

I am wondering about debts and the electoral roll. I used to live with my mum, my loans were all taken out while living with her (she knows about them). I have moved but haven't changed the address on my bank account as DP is unaware of my financial situation and don't want anything coming into the house - my mum knows this and is and is more than happy with this arrangement until they are paid off. I make all the minimum payments plus extra to get it paid off.

However, I now live with DP and am on the electoral roll at his address. Could this come back to bite me in the bum? I am really worried he will somehow become linked to my debt. I make all the payments and none of it is registered here.

Thanks

Debts aren't usually the problem when it comes to credit scores so much as defaults. If you are keeping up with minimum payments+ then you may be in debt but you're not defaulting.

However, why are you hiding your financial situation from your DP? Wouldn't it be better to tell him the truth but show him how you are managing the debt responsibly? Nothing so corrosive in a relationship as secrets and lies.

I don't really want to get in to why I haven't told him - he knows I'm not debt free but I've been really sketchy with details. We have separate finances at the moment, but that will change if we have a child - but my debt will be repaid by then.
