First time I have applied and having so much trouble getting through. Just got through now and my fecking knackered landline phone cut me off.
I am employed and self employed, both part time. I have my profit figure for last year for my self employment, but the hours I have worked s/e are more now than they were when I earnt that figure. Do I still put down the hours I work now, and presumably next year my profit figure will reflect that and they will adjust everything accordingly? It is likely to be double the figure for last tax year, although will still leave me well within the bracket eligible for tax credits. Please can anyone tell me if have got this right? My hours and pay fir my paid employment are straight forward. Thanks!

Put your hours worked as they are now, phone and tell them if you start working more or less in future. On the form it asks for previous year income, put this on the form, then once your claim has processed and you have received your award notice, call them up and give them your forecasted income for 14/15. If your estimates loom as if they may not be correct you can revise this figure at any point up until next April ( always overestimate rather than underestimate to reduce the risk of an overpayment).

Thank you v much. Do you mean over estimate my forecasted income?

Yes. Also at the end of the financial year many self employed people don't have their accounts finalised by the end of the renewal period at the end of July (as the SA deadline is the end of Jan) in this scenario you can renew using an estimated income then provide the actual figure by 31st January. If you need to do this again over estimate. Your award will be refinalised when you provide the actual figure and you will be paid any amount owing to you so you won't miss out.

Brilliant, thank you so much
