maternity pay with 2 employers

Hi there, I'm hoping some one could clarify my position.
I have 2 part time jobs and am 24 weeks pregnant. My first job I used to do waking nights for but had to stop these when I started to become ill. I now only do sleep-ins when they're available. My second job I also used to do waking nights for but since having to stop I have now started doing evening and weekend work for them instead and so it's with them I now mainly earn my money. I'm asking each job to change my tax code so my second job will now be eligible for the basic personal allowance, and my first put onto basic rate of tax.

I'm just unclear, with 2 jobs would I get maternity pay from each or do you only get it from one? It's entirely possible that I won't actually get any work whatsoever from my first job in the 12 weeks prior to going on maternity leave - the work is really sporadic and unreliable. I'm just concerned that since they were my first job for so long it might turn out that only they could have given me maternity pay and we won't receive anything.

In case anyone asks, my reason for doing evening and weekend work for job 2 rather than job 1 was firstly that job 1 said I'd need to travel between areas (thereby severely cutting down how much I could actually earn with them). But also (more importantly imo) when I told them I could no longer do waking nights instead of respecting this they actually begun trying to trick me into accepting waking night work anyway. They'd tell me a shift was for a sleep-in and leave me to get there and find out it was actually for a waking night. Or they'd say it was a waking night but I had permission to sleep - I didn't trust that they were actually getting this permission from the client and felt that going to a shift in which I'm supposed to be awake all night, but sleeping instead, would potentially be putting myself and the client at risk. Overall I felt like job 2 would do better at protecting my health and welfare.

If you meet the criteria for maternity pay with both, you will get maternity pay with them both. It's based on your earnings between weeks 17 and 25 (what you have been paid, rather than hours worked).

Thanks Rockchick, that's a relief to know.
