Tax Credit Investigation (Worried sick)

Hi all this is my first post. I just need some advice really.
So I got a letter in the post on Monday saying they were checking my childcare claim as they believe it was incorrect, which it was. My son started school in September 2013 and I didnt tell them as I still needed the childcare bit to pay for a friend to have my son before and after school as he couldn't go to a child minder as he is autistic and does not do well in unfamiliar surroundings. I was going to tell them in June as I am starting flexi working hours on the 1st of June so I will not need the childcare element.
I know this was wrong and after much research online I sent a letter yesterday be recorded delivery owning up to my mistake and explaining the situation like I just did now. I offered to pay back the amount i was overpaid.I am now just sick with worry as to what they will say and will they stop all my tax credit entitlement from her on now because of this?
Please help anyone.

You will have to pay back what you weren't entitled to. They usually take this back from your current tax credits payments over a period of time until the overpayment is repaid.

Thanks babyroobs, so for the time I am repaying my overpayment I will not be getting any tax credits then?

they usually just take a small amount back. i have had overpayments before which were caused by their error - they just took a certain amount a week off the payment
