If you rent and have received an eviction notice from mortgager because landlord hasn't been paying them do you have any right?

i have no idea but i would advise they get to the CAB pretty sharpish.

I would imagine the bank has the right to reposses but if the mortgage was a buy to let then they wuld have certain procedures for the tenants.

I would guess no. I mean even if they have statements to prove they have paid, their situation isn't the bank's problem. They could go to small claims court I spose.

No, this happened to me when I was seven months pregnant, and the landlord was featured in Britain's worst landords and his secretary even spoke about the poor pregant woman that was evicted.

We were paying a lot of rent every month for a riverside aprtment in London and the landlord was living in the penthouse which was secured against the flat we were living in. We worked out something was wrong when we went to park our car and there was another car parked in at , the landlord had sold our space. Feeling a bit anxoius I opened a letter than came to the apartnment and was addressed to him and it was about mortgage arrears on his penthouse that was secureed on our apartment. The following day some people turned up to measure and take details as the flat was being auctioned to pay debts and we had a few weeks to find somewhere else. We initially lost our £4K deposit although we did pursue the letting agent and they settled out of court.

Agree with CAB sounds very worrying.

How was it addressed , surely it should have been served on the mortgagee not the tenant as a repossession order or is this further to one ? Does the lender even know it is let out rather than owner occupied ?
