there are two bank credits on there that I know nothing about. £172.32 credited yesterday, transation "bank credit suspense" and another for £500 today.

Now I'm not getting excited because the only way this money is really mine is if the CSA have finally got some money from my ex h, which is very unlikely, but does anyone know what it is before I phone the bank?

I would phone and find out - are you due any WTC money?

jay4568 · 23/08/2006 08:49

No, don't think so. As far as I know we are only entitled to £43 a month. I'll phone them at 9 and see what it's all about

ring bank and ask for payee details? thats about all you can do other than ring csa and ask if it them?

It's not the CSA so I phoned the bank and they are going to put a trace on it and I have to phone them back on Friday.

goodness, well cone for being so controlled, I have such a money problem that it would have been spent before I could refresh the page

jay4568 · 23/08/2006 09:34

I'm just worried about having to pay it back... I'm sure they can make you even if it's not your fault the money is in your account!

This was in the Sunday Times Money Section last week - a woman who had £38k in her account . Legally the money IS NOT YOURS, if you move it it is THEFT. That was the message. Ringing the bank was the advice of the money expert, and it will be dealt with. SO you really have done the right thing. As likely it is an electronic transfer gone wrong.

If you want a silver lining: The interest the money earns while in your account is yours to keep and spend. Only sorry for you that it is not £38k !
