After what time is it legal to have a bonfire?

The last few times the neighbours have complained like mad, despite it being after 6pm.

We've only had 2 this year and have got loads of garden stuff thats needs burning.

The weathers not nice enough for anyone having BBQ so we won't be spoiling that and there's no washing out so I think dp should just go and light it and get it over and done with.

What do you think?

I've been up with my sick baby for 3 hours, I'm delirious with exhaustion and sitting here wondering what's happened to the OP in the 10 years that's passed since this thread was started. Did they ever sort out their moany neighbours? Were they able to bonfire freely or did they end up with an ASBO? Maybe they have children who are now grown up and are still living in the shadow of their parents ASBO shame? Why am I writing this? Maybe I'm asleep now and this a dream, or maybe it's not and I'll wake up later and read this and wonder what the fuck I was doing.

There is no law on the time you set fires. However there are rules set out by the goverment, well two really.

  1. Smoke must not cause a problem to motorists. This could cost you up to £5000 and, believe me they are not afraid to issue them.
  2. Do not cause a problem to niegbours, making sure they are informed so washing and open windows can be taken care of. An abatement notice can be issued and if ignored, again a fine of £5000. However, it has to happen several times and regular. So if you're the complainant then if it's once a month rather than weekly, don't bother. Hope. This helps

And why is it in money matters? 😂

I don't care how old previous comments might be; I'm only interested in current and future problems and any moron who dares to poison me with a damn bonfire anytime whatsoever is risking me making their lives very uncomfortable indeed!

Relight my fire.

My local FB page seems to be kicking off about a bonfire and I was just wondering on the general census on them. Funny enough I was wondering if people were becoming more precious about them now than in the past...
