Our camprevan overheated on the way home from the new forest resulting in athe dynamo Pulley sanpping plus the fanbelt, we had it recovered to our local vw specialist and asked that while he dropped the engine out to fit the new dynamo and belt that he check the engine for damage (as its four hours in labour to remove engine). Anyway he gave it back and it was clear it still had problems, oil leaking and only running on three cylinders. we took it back to the garage where he had another look and said we had two options, an engine rebuild or a new engine, i asked at this point if the engine rebuild was a viable option to which he replied yes. So we spent over a grand and he proceeded, only for us to get the van back and 60 miles later it overheats again (on route to family holiday). So we send it back to garage, pick it up a week later, same happens again, he has now had van for a total of 5 weeks and is saying we need a new engine despite us forking out for a rebuil. We are gutted, do we have any clout here at all, please advice

If you are a member of AA or RAC, or some of the other breakdown services they offer legal advice, have used the AA one before, the're quite good?

Sign up for Which magazine (c£18 per quarter but they do a free 30 day trial ) and then for their legal service which is £9.75 a quarter

Oh, I just reread that page and you can sign up even if you're not a member, for £12.75 a quarter - they'll give you telephone advice for that, and draft letters for you (I think that's extra but it's v specialised legal knowledge). They are shithot for the price!
