How can I get £300 in the next month?

Title says it all really. I need £300 in the next month in order to be able to afford the deposit on my flat. Am already scrounging from my parents and in Sept I am due a lot of money, that unfortunately I can't get before hand.

Leaving this payment until the money comes through isn't an option as my current accomodation runs out four days after i'm supposed to move into /pay deposit on this new place. I don't have a job at the moment as am a full time student. Have an application form for the nursing bank, but there is no work until middle of sept at the earliest.

Any ideas on where I could get the money from? Am reluctant to get a loan, even thought I can pay it back within 6months.

ebay?

busk?

sell your body?

NutterlyUts · 03/08/2006 20:00

Can't afford to buy the postage things for ebay atm. Busking - am not remotely entertaining.

Selling my body.. Yeah um.. hope you were joking..

no, I mean sell things you have. or do a car boot?

southeastastra · 03/08/2006 20:02

temp?

SenoraPostrophe · 03/08/2006 20:03

hang on - what postage things?

do you mean packaging? you can buy it with the postage and packing money surely?

NutterlyUts · 03/08/2006 20:03

I meant the money to post things onto people with ebay - all my money from ebay goes into paypal and it won't let me download it into my bank account with verfication, which it won't let me get

it doesn't go into paypal if you ask for cheque/postal order

NutterlyUts · 03/08/2006 20:05

True, but how reliable are cheques? I mean do they tend to bounce or is that rare?

re the verification: it's a small charge on your bank account isn't it? and then you enter the code? you should be able to get copies of your old statements from the bank if that's the problem. or, transfer the money to a friend with paypal and get them to give you cash.

SenoraPostrophe · 03/08/2006 20:09

you wait till cheques've cashed before you send the stuff.

NutterlyUts · 03/08/2006 20:09

the verification won't send to my home address for some reason, and there is no link that i can find to get it resent. If people have sucessfully used cheques on ebay then I will give it a go. Have about £50's worth of stuff I can sell which'll help.

I realise I sound like a right moaning minnie but I promise I'm not. Just stressed and panicking

put it this way: if you wait till the money is in your bank account then a cheque is better security than paypal. I've just had a 200 quid paypal transaction reversed (dunno why - they won't tell me. presumably stolen card). the only problem is that some people only bid on paypal things.

btw I verified our account with a phone number - never heard of any sending thing. maybe they've changed it.

but anyway there's 50 quid. then a couple of weeks of temping?

southeastastra · 03/08/2006 20:15

are you having trouble being verified? it's a pain

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 03/08/2006 20:16

have a look around for local car boots - and drag yourself out of bed ridiculously early one morning to do it

NutterlyUts · 03/08/2006 20:16

Am in full time placement as a student nurse. I don't have time for temping. Am currently doing 40+hr weeks so any money I make needs to come from side projects I can squash into what little spare time I have

I verified my account with a phone number as well. Also i have had several people buy from me and pay by cheque, i've never had a problem. I tell them that the goods won't be dispatched until the funds have cleared

pluckingontheoldfanjo · 03/08/2006 20:23

Our local NCT does twice yearly sales which anyone can sell at - ok, you have to give a percentage of your total to the NCt, but it is a relatively painless way to clear out baby/toddler/ clothes,. kit, toys etc. I did one last year and made £100. Just a thought.

Babysitting? Flog stuff on here?

Persuade 300 MNetters to lend you a quid??? (I'll start you off with a quid! )

Thanks everyone
