Just stoped the man as he was about to put it up.

a board does help as people often drive around looking for them

notasheep · 01/08/2006 12:38

thought most buyers used internet,we sold without a board

It depends . We've viewed some with and some without. If it is hard to distinguish yours from others around, just by photo or description, or it is set back off the road then I'd say you need one. Bear in mind that they rarely show full address and specific directions on sites like Right Move so if someone sees it there and comes looking around the area without contacting the agent they may find it hard to work out which one is for sale.

It was the pictures on the estate agents website that sold mine.

Nope - we had no board and sold in a couple of weeks.

SminkoPinko · 01/08/2006 13:03

Good luck, Tinker. Do you want me to go round and bash your neighbour with a for sale board? Or set a for sale boar on him? Happy to oblige. He sounds like such a c word.

sold mine within a week with no board...had many conversations with agent who really wanted us to have the board. Its got more to do with their advertising of their business not selling your house. newspapers, estate agents windows and internet (rightmove) are the best way of advertising your property imo...good luck with your sale!

Oh, good, more encouraging tales.

SP - yes please, but when it says SOLD on it!
