Ocado/Waitrose vs Tesco vs Sainsbury.

I know that Waitrose is considered the most expensive of the three, but I'm not convinced. What are your thoughts on which one is the cheapest week over week for relatively good products? I buy a few branded things like diet coke, pizza express, ben & jerry's, but buy a lot of Waitrose essentials as well. I normally buy free-range/organic.

I have a weekly delivery and want to set it up and kind of go with it, I don't want to do a lot of comparison shopping.

I'm also thinking that maybe I should do an enormous monthly shop from one store and a weekly shop from another like Ocado?

Have used Ocado for past 7 years. Pay their monthly pass, about £9 so I can have as many deliveries as I want and this works really well- less waste.

My experience are they are excellent. The one time they let me down and were late I got money back, several bottles of wine and profuse apologies. Drivers are polite and will always carry bags to kitchen.

If you plan what you wat to buy I thinkit works out the same as going to Tescos- and ou can do it all from the comfort of our sofa with an I pad! Iu derstand they are also stocking Morrisons from later in 2014- will be interesting to see how that goes

Funnily enough I was wondering this exact thing earlier this week as Waitrose offer free delivery. I went online and filled my basket on each site with the same thing or closest equivalent. To get the shops to a similar price I could get the sane goods but in smaller quantities i.e. 2 kitchen rolls not 4, 400g organic mince rather than 500.
On balance I got better value at Sainsburys.

This week I plan to try Tesco v Sainsburys Grin

I recently compared Tesco's and Waitrose for my shop, in particular I am a coeliac for have 'pricy' GF items. Observation.
Gluten free is much cheaper in waitrose
Fruit and veg from Waitrose last longer as does milk.
In general my shop is cheaper at Waitrose
Free coffee at Waitrose
If I'm lucky one day I'll win the month/year of free shopping.

Finally Tesco's makes me mad don't ask me why it just does.
