Are there any situations when a credit card company would freeze the interest for an agreed period of time???

yes - I have had mine frozen and no charges due to financial difficulty - I had to fill out an income and expenditure shhet to show that I could not afford to pay what they were asking and they took it from there.

Does it affect your credit score? did they provide the expenditure sheet?

Yes - certain ones do. They'd rather be getting some payment than none at all and most will freeze interest until things start picking up for you.

Yes they will freeze it if you are having money problems. You must keep up payments that have been agreed, they usual review cases every 3 -6 months to see if you can afford to pay more.

It will effect you credit rating.

HSBC will agree to lower repayments - but won't freeze your interest (as we've discovered )
