We have been doing our house up to sell for the last four years and having a family. Its finished and we are getting estate agent in tomorrow for valuation. We are a bit anxious as we need a certain amount to move to our desired area which until today had nothing for sale in it (its very popular)
I have seen a house on line thats gone on today and its my dream home.I have asked to view tomorrow but our house will only be going on tomorrow. If I like the house what can I say? I presume I cant make an offer but what do you do?

I REALLY REALLY like it
thanks all advice welcome, its a new world for me

I think you can put an offer in - it's just subject to you selling your house.

the house we like is quite old and i would want a survey but if it took ages to sell ours then we would prob loose other house so maybe not worth doing survery till actually in position to buy?

Of course you can make an offer, and if it gets accepted you can kick your estate agents arse to start selling yours quick. I had put an offer in on a house and then put ours on market, estate agent worked so hard and in the first few weeks we had zillions of viewings but then decided to pull out of the house we were buying - consequently the estate agent stopped working so hard for us!

It is very unusual for people not to do a survey, but don't go thinking about it yet! Wait until yours has a buyer and they too are booking a survey, that way you know they are serious and hopefully you won't be wasting money.

Good luck!

I alwasy found that it's a bit of a hit and miss game anyway. You can't sell your current house until you've found a new one but you can find a new one until you've sold your current one!
Is there any reason yours would take a long time to sell?
think you have to go for it if it feels right - you never no, the people might not be in a chain or something so they might be happy tow ait. You don't know until you try!

ours is a 'first time buyers' house and its had the ann maurice treatment so i think if its priced right it will go quickly (we have been told this)
the house we like looks like an elderly person has had it and maybe its been in probate.buts its a good buy and reckon it will go quck

i will have everything crossed cept legs (we want another baby!!)

You'll be surprised by the surprises that house buying and selling can bring you!

Just stick to the belief that whatever happens is meant to be.

We had the idyllic 'first time buyers' house to sell, i had bidding wars going on - and then all of them drop out at once!

You may find that an 'old persons' house in need of some tlc won't be attractive to others and may not go as fast as you think. I shall keep fingers and legs crossed for you!

The house we currently live in, we originally lost out to a higer bidder. 4mths later we were still looking for our dream house and i noticed this one back on the market cos the higher bidders had decided to get a divorce instead of buy a house together . never before had i been so happy to hear such sad news.
