And they write to you saying ' your application for a personal loan of £ has been accepted by our underwriting department' and I just need to send them a small fee, does this mean I am guarenteed the loan or could they take my money and still refuse me?

What is the fee for?

waterfalls · 28/06/2006 11:35

It just says the brokers fee, for processing I assume.

It should be OK if they've aready agreed it, but I'm not 100% sure. We got our personal loan through our bank, although the loan isn't actually with the bank, and we didn't have to pay any fee. Can you phone and ask?

waterfalls · 28/06/2006 11:39

Yes I might ring and ask, but if there are any catches I imagine they gloss over them, I am thinking maybe once they have thier fee, they may say I need a guarentor(sp)

No, they charge you a fee for processing, it is not util it has been processed that they offer you a loan.

However, most companies refund teh fee if they do not find you a loan.

It would be best to call, ask bery specific questions and insist on specific answers!
