How long does it usually take to arrange a mortgage survey on a property???

We accepted an offer on our flat last week - private sale, so we are managing the process without the "help" of an estate agent. The buyer says she wants to move quickly, and said we should wait for her mortgage lender to get in touch about arranging the survey. How long is a reasonable amount of time to wait for the survey? I can't remember how long it took last time we bought. Can anyone help??

i should imagine they should call you within a couple of day s to arrange an appt

I would expect them to be in touch within a few days to suggest a date, although it depends on if they phone or write, then it depends on how busy they are.

thanks nailpolish and securmummy - I thought as much. It has been 5 working days now, so I have raised it and the buyer is going to chase up.

The lenders with the top deals at the moment all appear to be snowed under, so if your purchasers have gone for one of them there will probably be a backlog. Up to two weeks for the worst (or best, if you look at it from an interest rate point of view!!)

Ours was 48 hours.
