Theoretically yes, but depends on the T's & C's of their individual bank account.

DD should be off away at college when she is 16 - I guess the easiest way is for her & me to have a joint account for bills & a separate account for spending in just her name

Just be aware that by having a joint account you will be 'linking' your financial positions and this can affect both of you if one has a good/bad credit history.

Well at 16 she hasn't got one yet and hopefully by having the joint account won't get one

Plus at 16 I'd be liable anyway wouldn't I?

No I know. I just mean it's something to think about for the future, she won't be under 18 for long and your account together may last beyond that.

I know - but until she is 18 I'll cope then we can renegotiate based on how well she has done for 2 years

I imagine I will have to sign rental agreements too
