child tax credits - sahm going to uni

Hi,
Hoping someone can help!
I'm going to start uni in September, doing nursing, so I will get a non means tested NHS bursary and child care allowance, works out at approx 6k per year. At present I have no income to declare for ctc. DH earns way less than 40k and we have 3 dcs,we don't claim any child care help as I am sahm.
Will our entitlement to ctc reduce? Help! Panicking a bit as my childcare bill is through the roof, havd 1×full time CM and 2×after school club as no family help.
Anyone any ideas? Im in Scotland if it makes any difference..
Thanks muchly :)

The rules tend to be different for full-time students than the rest of the population and it may be advisable to talk to your Student Services at the uni .

I'm starting uni in Sept too and tax credits told me that student finance is not included as income. I'm not sure if that includes the bursary though as I don't get that.

Thanks :) I will give the tax credits folk a call, but I hoped someone on here might know. :)

You can't get tax credit help with childcare unless both you and your partner are working over 16 hours each per week (being a student doesn't count as working).
Sme NHS bursaries come with an additional childcare bursary, it depends what course you are studying.
Your bursary is not classed as income for tax credit purposes, so your income won't change and your current entitlement will remain the same.

Running - thank you! :)
I was really worried we'd get less ctc over all
:) Thanks
