Has anyone used this? I wondered how accurate it is as I have done he calculator and it says we are entitled to 82.40 per week child tax credits based on my dh salary of 24k with 2 children? This seems very generous to me!?

Does that include child benefit and are you putting in childcare costs?

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 01/06/2013 16:37

I've had fairly accurate figures from it since I split from my ex, but never found it that great when we were together.

Metalgoddess · 01/06/2013 16:38

That doesn't include child benefit just child tax credits. We do not have any childcare costs.

Do you have a child with a disability, or are you or DH receiving DLA? It seemed very high, I've just put in the details you gave and I got £66 per week!

Metalgoddess · 01/06/2013 19:02

No not receiving anything currently apart from child benefit, it's actually on a salary of 23289, I rounded it up wrong when writing this post lol. He also pays £100 per month pension which seems to alter figures? I've rechecked it and it still says 82.40 per week. I put in 24k and no pension and it came up with 66.49 per week as Rockchick1984 said. Its so hard to budget or plan with info that may not be accurate! If anyone can help, it would be most appreciated!

Please help, I left my husband a year ago because of domestic and verbal abuse. Since that time I've been living in private rented accommodation and have had almost half of my rent paid though housing benefit (I work full time, but on quite a low salary). I've received a notice today from my local authority saying that my revised amount of housing benefit is £0. Without help, myself and two sons will literally be homeless. The reason for calculation is: Change of Liability. Does anybody know anything about this or what it means? I am in a blind panic and can't call anybody about this until Monday Hmm

Sorry posted in wrong place Blush

Movingout did you manage to post your thread? :)

Movingout · 01/06/2013 20:54

Yes thank you.

Rockchick1984 · 02/06/2013 00:57

Metal is it a private pension or one through his employer? Private pension payments will affect it, occupational pensions can't be included unfortunately.

Metalgoddess · 02/06/2013 09:11

It's through his employer, reading up on this it seems v confusing with regards to pension contributions, if thy are paid fom gross/net salary etc as opposed to simply whether they are occupational or private?

Without inputting any pension contributions in the turn2 us calculator, it says we are entitled to £72 per week child tax credits, does this sound reasonably accurate?
