TV Repair Scam - Please Read...

Ladies I wanted to spread the word about an experience we have just had - we have a widescreen TV which the tube had blown in and we contacted our local TV Repair people who were 5 mins away. They came to take our tv away 9 weeks ago and ever since then they have never phoned us, we have phoned them every time and they kept lying to us, saying we would have it back and they would drop it off, etc, etc. Yesterday I said I would call the police if they didn't give us our TV back (bearing in mind I am 26 wks pregnant and not to be messed with!). They said they would drop it off today - I had had enough and got one of our engineers at work to go to Birmingham and pick it up. In the meantime, I put the company address in and it came up with cowboy repair website and we found the shop was fraudulent, the owner had been jailed and they were operating scams all over the country, London, Leicester, Brighton, Manchester, Notts, Birmingham, you name it. Just want to warn you ladies to be careful and if you have a TV that you need repairing please make sure you check out the shop first or check with the police to make sure they are ok. Conclusion: we got our TV back but when we got it back home, they had kept the remote control and when we looked inside the TV it was all smashed up and therefore dead and not usable. This cost us £5000 - its a tough lesson to learn. B x
