Would you report this to the CSA?

Basically we have found out that my 16 year old step son is no longer in full time education although he is not working either. This means that we officially don't have to may maintenance for him anymore, But because he isn't working, he is not going to be giving his mum any money to replace what we will be stopping. I know we can report this and get the payment stopped legally, but is it right morally?

Hope this makes sense.

Rainbow, I'd be interested to hear what benefits are available for 16 year olds who are not pregnant, have a dependent child, are sick or disabled or are on certain training courses (which it would appear this one isn't).

JSA and Income support are only available to over 18s (unless the above applies or they have been in care).

blimey after reading this im worried for my ds whos 11.7 years and how we will manage financially when hes 16 and child support stops and child tax, child benefit, help with housing. my youngest would be 6 by the age of the eldest 16th birthday, does this mean id have to go to work full time to support us all. as a lone parent that would be extremely toughSad

Also the CSA don't keep back any money for themselves. They have to give me the full amount that my ex pays them, they are simply the agent that collects the money.

7up your child benefit & tax credits will not stop at 16 if your DS continues in f/t education.
