jsut got my forms back for tax credits. i'm soooooo confused, ok full circumstances are as follows:

DH & I joint income for 04/05 - £26875 both working 37 hours p/w, we can't have WFTC as apparently our income doesn't allow for that bit (full reduction of £3993.10 dues to our income??)

this is the confusing bit - child element for Joey (he's 7 weeks)

1 child from 06/04/06 to 05/04/07 £1766.60

right ok then, in the family elements, they've added his £1766.60 onto the basic/baby bits, and then taken that amount back off due to our income - so we have £1032.00.

A - does that sound like it makes sence to u guys?
b - they want to know our income for 05/06 which is about £2500 ish more (no more than that) but now i'm not working our combined income for 06/07 is going to be approx £20000 dep on DH pay rise, so which annual salary do I tell them? - they already had us messed up saying we were on social instead of emplyed - and I know full well I ticked employed cos I took the forms to welfare to find out the address for DH's pay office!

any help greatly recieved - ooh and why is it they send me a form and DH one seperatly?? one not do one and save the money!

I havent had a form this year!!!

serenity · 18/04/2006 13:21

Tell them both. You not working now doesn't affect the 05/06 income, but it says on the letter to inform them if your income varies by a certain amount so they need to know that as well. I'd put it in writing as well as ring because ime they have difficulty processing more than one piece of information at a time Wink

MrsStrutsHerStuff · 18/04/2006 13:21

ok so far it sounds ok, you need to tell them the amounts straight from your p60 for 05/06 and they will deal with that, but you also need to make clear that you are no longer working therfor your income this year 06/07 will not be the same as 05/06, you need not tell them about your dh pay rise until it happens or if there is a certain band it usually says something like "if you expect your income to fall by £? or rise by £? you need to contact us. They always send seperate forms so that both of you know what you are entitled too! Hope this makes sense, but def phone them and keep on top of them to keep yourself right

Auntymandy · 18/04/2006 13:22

do you know his new pay?
tell them that. wont make much difference unless its ahuge pay increase!

Auntymandy · 18/04/2006 13:23

am I the only person not to have had trouble with them?!

Munz · 18/04/2006 13:24

ok thanks girls will give them a quick call after Joey's next feed. they seemed to get the last problem sorted out ove rhte telephone ok - but I think i'll send a letter sp del again as I did for our first claim so they couldn't say they didn't get it. I should be able to predict DH's rise based on his daily rate, do u think that will suffice or is it best to have the actual figure?

it's about £2.50 extra p/d (althou the rent goes up byu £1.50 then there's the council tax up by £50p ish and tax/ni so I don't think we actually see any of it! lol)
