no I don't think there will be a big crash again, the market will probably stagnate and slow down when people selling try to be greedy and insist on selling at heavily inflated prices, oh sorry that's happening now isn't it Wink

GDG · 17/04/2006 17:53

people have been saying it for about 4 yrs now.

dinny · 17/04/2006 17:53

Totally inflated Dinny but I still don't think it will crash, people will lower prices to sell after being in the market for a while and everything will just tick along.

dinny · 17/04/2006 18:01

Flutterbee, national debt is so high, people are mortgaged up to the hilt. when interest rates go up lots of buy-to-letters will be **ed and the market flooded with property....

it's a suckers' market, according to Yolande Barnes in yesterday's Times....

The market near me certainly isn't grinding to a halt, and we're NOT in one of the few places left where property is cheap.

JoolsToo · 17/04/2006 18:18

all the 'experts' predicted it was going to be LAST October

dinny · 17/04/2006 18:33

reckon downturn will start this summer (well, has started but think people will start to notice this Aug/Sept)

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 17/04/2006 18:35

We'll see.

GDG · 17/04/2006 18:42

Ditto NDP. Not mortgaged to hilt either.

expatinscotland · 17/04/2006 18:42

i don't see UK house prices crashing. think it's silly to wait for that. just keep dodging along myself. can't honestly care about house prices anymore.

jampots · 17/04/2006 18:45

house prices round here are on the up again and houses selling like hot cakes at seriously over inflated prices

puff · 17/04/2006 18:58

Wasn't personal bankruptcy at it's highest since records began last year?

NomDePlume · 17/04/2006 18:59

Prices here are steadily rising, and have been despite all the scare reports of values plummeting in the past 18mo. Plenty coming to the market and houses are selling quickly after the natural pre/post Christmas slump.
