Mine have gone up by more than £20 a month yet our income hasn't altered by much? I rang to query this and they said it's right, some people's have gone down some up. Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

Still anxiously waiting on a review. Have no idea if they will go up or down.

I was expecting to lose Tax Credits this year after all the reports, we were only getting the minimum last year. Instead I got £700 as a lump sum because we were underpaid and my monthly TC have tripled. I'm still in shock, and still vaguely nervous they've actually cocked it up (checked the paperwork they sent and it all seems legit... ) I must say though that my salary was £2k less last year due to a evil bitch queen new Manager cutting all my overtime (she's now left Smile)

dmitri I think they ignore drops of £2.5K though. Seems a bit too good to be true. Unfortunately. Our payments have remained the same, but we are undergoing a full review, having had to send off all the documents and invoices etc.

Have you run the numbers you submitted through any of the online Tax Credit calculators like the one on the HMRC site or the Turn2Us site?

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 07:24

The calculators are never the same as the Tax Credit people calculate it as it is such a complicated process with drops and increases in income being discounted in differing amounts.

I've been worrying a bit about reviews. I pay my childcare bill monthly but the school holidays are different. I am supposed to pay in cash every day directly to the provider who are notoriously rubbish at admin. I am bit scared that there will be no record of my payments if I come to a review. Hmm. I think I need a chat with the owner.

Ours went down by £40/month but thats because DH's profit was about £3k more last year than the year before.

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 09:45

llare they are legally obliged to give receipts and keep records, but I have also experienced that. I insisted in paying by cheque though. She was not overly impressed, but at least it is traceable.
