Have you thought about borrowing on a 0% credit card?

Hattie05 · 12/03/2006 23:15

Sounds like a 0% credit card would suit you.

Why do you feel you want things all in one place? If you pick internet based cards and accounts, its pretty easy to shift money back and forth as you need to.

I'd recommend Firstdirect as a great bank for current account, from the point of view that they are so simple to use and have great customer service. I am not sure that their loans and cc's compare very well to other companies.

Take a look at www.moneysupermarket.com and www.moneysavingexpert.co.uk for info and guides to the best loans and bank accounts.

If you apply for a credit card that will do a balance transfer at 0% with no charge, it would work. Take a look at the second website i mentioned.

When you fill out the application, they normally ask for any debts you want to be paid off in the way of balance transfer. Give them the account no. etc and they will pay it off upon completion!

cahoot or Northern Rock both allow you to overpay.

HSBC do Flexiloans. You have to make a minimum payment of 1/25 facility IF you are using it,(like a credit card) but can redraw & overpay when you like. Have to have a current account with them to fund it from though.
