Some credit report questions please!

not sure if this is in the right place but I suspect I need to see my credit report or credit record, I've googled a bit and it looks like there are 2 or 3 companies and they do free trials.

Does anyone know are they all the same? ie if I see one will that be the same as the others? Do I have to see them all? Is the trial actually free and if so do I want a look or a free trial subscription or what? Do I just get one free trial or can I get more ie check in a year that the info really was removed if I find anything.

Thanks

FWIW my previous mobile phone company has decided I owe them for ongoing subscriptions after telling me to cancel the dd with the bank I have tried and tried to speak to someone but I can't get any sense out of them and after about 3 years I think they have reported it.

They won't all have exactly the same info as not all lenders subscribe to all credit reference agencies. However the main 3 all have pretty good coverage. I think Experian used to have the most overall coverage, but Equifax were slightly better for telecoms.

Not sure how the free trials work as never tried it, hopefully someone else will be able to help with this.

You can also use the credit search facility on moneysupermarket. It doesn't give you details, but will give you an overall rating from excellent to poor

You can buy the reports for £2 online without having to subscribe to anything. They are not all the same.
have a look at

i had an excellent credit rating, then moved house and suddenly couldn't get credit at all, despite my credit rating with experian being in the second best category, got knocked backed for a credit card..no idea why, all they could say was that my credit rating wasn't good enough but wouldn't tell my why. I found out that previous tenant ran up huge bills, nothing to do with me, but no luck, seems im blacklisted now because of my address.

southwest I had the same problem with orange when my contract ended, they falsely reported that I'd defaulted. I emailed the CEO who passed it down to the exec team and they had it removed, it was a fight but worth it. If it was orange let me know and I'll pm the email address.

If you are signed up with experian they can query things on your behalf too which is useful.

natasha, i found out that AOL had disconnected my wifi as I had told them I was moving, but instead of reconnecting me at new addy, reconnected old addy. I had no wifi and was calling and calling of course couldnt get a person just a machine, then when I did get a human he couldn't understand my scottish accent, kept saying he had reconnected me at old address, I got really pissed off so I cut off my direct debit and went with sky, then AOL blacklisted me, i tried to appeal but as usual with these people couldnt get to speak to an actual human, when I did get a human was some guy in India who didn't have a clue what I was saying, and by the time I did had already signed contract with sky. I thought I had it sorted, hence the worry about the blacklisted addy, but still cant find out if that was the reason or if it was the previous tenant. Luckily I didn't really need the credit, was just applying for the 0% transfer rate on new card, but still haven't found out the truth. As experian only give you a months free trial couldn't be bothered going through the whole process again (and paying for it) so just left it.

And AOL did agree that they had defaulted on contract by not giving me service for 6 weeks, so I didn't think that was the reason, but I still don't know.
