How to I calculate how much tax I will pay?

My income is set to rise but I think because now I am just under the tax bracket that I am actually going to be worse off . How do I calculate how much tax and ni I will pay ?

No. Tax has been calculated individually for a long time. You may now earn enough to start paying tax but it will be the amount you earn above the threshold that is taxed, the rest will stay the same.

Also, if you move up to another tax bracket and you received benefits of any kinds you might not be entitled to them. Housing benefit, tax credits, assistance with childcare costs and child allowance are the ones the spring to mind.

I think the OP was saying that they're moving from paying no tax to paying tax at 20% rather than going from 20% to 40%.
