I'll try and make this as short as poss but ask me questions if you need to.

Just got my £119 back from a national DIY store.

We bought a complete kitchen and the integral dishwasher (value £300+) failed completely 3months after the 1year warranty.

I was given the nod about the Sale of Goods Act and told to look on The One Show website for more details and a framework letter.

I sent off the letter to the DIY store and got a phonecall from dept. manager saying they weren't liable as the warrenty was over. I told him to forward the letter to head office as he obviously wasn't up to scratch on his legal obligations.

A week later he rang back saying get the manufacterer out and if it was deemed to be a fault with the dishwasher rather than misuse they'll pay up. The engineer came out and it turned out to be a problem with the internal computer. We paid and sent the receipt with a copy of our original letter.

We recieved our cheque for £119 today.

I refuse to take out product insurance as The Sale of Goods Act should cover everything within reason.

has anyone else used The Sale of Goods Act?

Sale of Goods Act info. Not selling. Just read the thread title and thought it sounded like something dodgy. LOL
