Thank you for your letter dated ...............

I would like to make you aware of the fact that as soon as I discovered that my loan included PPI, I spoke to Lloyds Bank Cambridge to say that I did not think that it was appropriate for my circumstances, was expensive and that I was not happy to have the insurance. I was told that I had to have the insurance by the Lloyds Bank representative.

I therefore ask you to reconsider your decision.

Did you get a claim form? I need to do this but worry it will stress me out -evenfurther

TDada · 21/06/2012 22:53

I called Lloyds Bank and complained and then they wrote to me. My claim is very old (pre 2005) and it seems like they are playing some game

If you have not issued a claim for mis-selling of PPI in respect of a policy sold to you in 2005 you are out of time under the Limitation Act 1980. You might be able to argue date of knowledge under section 14A of the Act but recent case law has demonstrated that some judges have no truck with that.

i wanted to answer given that we have just received a substantial pay out from lloydstsb ourselves. We didnt even write one letter. We got all our past loan numbers from an advisor at our local branch (going as far back as 2002), we then rang the loan department of the bank and asked them to check which ones had ppi (5 out of 7 did), we verbally gave them the details as to why we didnt think we should have been paying and then we left it with them. 8 weeks later we got almost 8 grand back, no quibbles nothing. They sent us letters confirming the decision but that was it. I was told from a very friendly advisor in our branch that they are not argueing just giving the money back and that is exactly how it worked out for us. Hope it is that easy for you also.
