I've had to resign front job for a variety of reasons can I still claim tax credits as I have three kids and a partner who works full time ???

Depends what your partner earns tbh.

Liz1506 · 07/06/2012 14:59

Run your new details through the Turn2Us Benefit Checker and you should get a very good idea what extra help is available and how much you may be awarded. Covers not only Tax Credits but other benefits as well. Contact the Tax Credit Helpline to advise them of a change in circumstances.

Thanks for the Turn2Us benefit checker - except unfortunately, we're not entitled to anything apart from child benefit. Boo.

RedHelenB · 08/06/2012 14:06

On 16k an annum you should be - I would ring up tax credits.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 08/06/2012 15:08

theborrower is the OP?

You should/will get child tax credits and possibly some working tax credits. We have one income of almost exactly 16000 and get full CTC and about £60 WTC every 4 weeks. I think the thresholds are between 16 and 17k so if you actually earn closer to 17 you may miss out on WTC and get less than the maximum CTC but still you'll get a significant amount of CTC on that kind of income (max. for one child is £247 every 4 weeks currently and a fair bit more for more children). Do use the calculator above. It's pretty accurate.

@ Cogito - sorry for any confusion. No, I'm not the OP - just saw your link and thought it was handy. Now I know we're not eligible for any benefits, rather than just suspecting.
