I know if you work between 16-30 hours you get the same amount of tax credit, but what happens when you work 30+ plus hours?
Is that a daft question?

I don't think it makes any difference but then their whole payment mechanism is a mystery I work 40 hours

It is a mystery isnt it? I work 26 hours, but now that DD is a bit older I would like to work more hours but dont know how it will affect my money

I think it's the earnings that make a difference not the hours

I don't know if this is any use but here is the rates for tax credits - here
You do get extra for working more than 30 hrs but they also rely on your income.

Hello
I am hijacking slightly does anyone know a link where I can find out how much CTC can be claimed on different income brackets.

I have been told that as DH is working abroad and only in the uk for 50 days per year i may have to claim as a single parent.
