Can anyone give me advice about CSA

ex/p didnt pay any maintenance for 8 years then paid throughout his court case. Amazingly once that was over he stopped paying and when the csa set up a deduction of earnings order he 'lost' his job and started claiming benefits.
Apparently he had to pay £2.50 a week, but this has never materialised. So I havent had a payment since October. I have phoned to chase it today but nothing really came out of the phonecall.
He has told dd he is working and his mother says he is working but I dont know where and have no way of finding out. I told the CSA this and they asked him and of course he said he wasnt.
What is my next step from here, I dont know whether to speak to the benefits agency because I have no concrete evidence other than what he has told me.

Hi, Benefits agency won't tell you anything they will say its data protection! You can ask the csa to do a visit to his home, unfortunately ime you have to phone the csa a lot to get them to do anything, and I don't want to offend anyone who works for them, they really are bogged down with work, but thats another story. I am interested what course case? don't mean to be nosey...did you take him to court for maintenance as I did not think this was possible anymore? I understand completely where you are coming from.....9 years and nearly 9 grand in arrears owed!

Which CSA office are you dealing with? I have dealt with 3 different ones and one of them was far better than the other 2, all depends on the area you live in I suppose.

Also keep a note of peoples names when you speak to the csa, its sad you have to but if someone says they are going to do something to help and don't its really not on especially as it sometimes takes over 10 mins to actually get your call answered. I find if you take someones name and ask for a call back they seem to do it.

no he was applying for access.
I just wondered if the benefits agency would look at him working if he claiming benefits, you know if they would check it out.
I know the CSA wont, they only go by what the benefits agency say

oh,thought I might be able to take ex-p to court for the arrears! nevermind.

I once, sorry, repeatedly, asked the csa to check with the Inland Rev if my ex-p was working and then do a deductions of earnings order, they told me they couldn't for data protection reasons.

If you were claiming benefits then I think it may be different, the benefits agency would take from him to pay you as part of your benefit and therefore may give you more info on his situation.

Maybe give them a call anyway, I'm not an expert just had lots of dealings with them and my ex-p has tried every trick in the book to avoid paying. Good luck
