The searches have been done. So am I right thinking that once survery reesults back, we 'negotiate' if necessary RE the price if major problems, if not we proceed to exchange contracts and then set a completion date. Does anyone know of likely timescales for this? There is no chain and the seller is keen to be free of house as has moved in with his partner. I've yet to hand in my 6 weeks notice and need to decide when to do so.

if they are having a full structural survey and it brings up any major factors that would involve the new buyer having to spend a large amount of money on, then yes once thats back they can re-negotiate the price if needed, for example, evidence of subsidence, leaking roof etc.

Depends on the results of the survey Flossam. If anything is 'highlighted' then this will then need to be checked by a professional in that field e.g. a roofing contractor or timber specialist. They will then re-report and submit a quotation for any work that needs doing, then you negotiate. Good luck

We're getting the homebuyers. So that will show anything significant or urgent which needs to be done. So no idea really untill survey done! Grr how hard is it to match everything up!!
