Hello everyone
I have been asked to look after my husbands mother and grandma as there main carer, I would have to give up work to do this which is fine by me, my question is how much help would we get?
If I didnt work I would get £92 per week, would I also get the £55 carers allowance on top of the £92, or just the £55?
Thank you :)

Not quite sure where the £92 is coming from on your post.
Carers allowance is £55 a week for everyone, you are allowed to earn £100, or there abouts (check online for full amounts) without losing carers.
You have to be doing more than 36 hours caring to get carers.

I think it depends on your age, if you are over 60 it changes, but I think you should get £55 on top of £92

Thank you,
The £92 is from tax credits for not working thats what they have said anyway, I'm 30 and I would be doing around 36 hours every week

I'd really look into it carefully.
My friend was my carer, she didn't get the full £55 because they took money off her income support but what they also did, was take £50 a week from me.
They weren't clear about it at all.

Child taxs count carers as an income, so might lower it further.
