Hi,
my wife has been stay at home mum since the birth of our twins just over two years ago. My question is "does she need to sign-on?" , she isn't looking for work but i wonder if she needs to sign-on to keep up her stamp / N.I. contributions? am worried that at some point there may be a short-fall in her pension etc.
Any advice gratefully received.
Many thanks.

if she is claiming child benefit I think it keeps up the stamp

yes, we do get child benefit . Have had a dig around various websites like HMRC and Citizens Advice but can't find a reference to it.

google home responsibilities protection - that's the technical term. If your wife has the child benefit paid to her (into a joint account is fine, letter should be addressed to her) she should automatically get HRP so have her NI stamp creditted
