csa payments

Hi everyone. Firstly apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, I'm new to all this :)
My question is this.... does anyone know whether CSA payments should be calculated on a 52 week per year basis? I received a letter advising of the amount my ex has been advised to pay per week. He is now paying me 4x that per month, but this obviously doesn't calculate correctly over the year. It may sound petty, but it's a difference of about £400 per year! Also, I receive the payments from the CSA, but not via a court order. He is telling me that they set up the Direct Debit, but I'm not sure that's the case.
Thanks :)

I get payments through the CSA, and they collect the payments from him. He was sent a form for dd details to make the payments. They worked it out on a monthly basis so I def didn't miss out.

Now on a court order system anyway, and payments can now be very random! I think I get four weeks money roughly monthly but every so often they throw in an extra one!

They should send you a payments schedule anyway, so check that very carefully.

If he hasn't paid anything yet, they will also backdate the payments to when he was first contacted by them, so will have to add on some arrears to the payments too.

Hmm, good point.

Our maintenance is calculated on a weekly basis but we get the same amount every month, whether it's a long or short month. So, not sure how they do it .

Mine is paid from the CSA. I'm not sure how they get the money from XP, whether it's a DD or standing order.

Really not helping am I!

Thanks all for your replies :)
I'm going to be phoning them tonight to TRY and find out what's going on Hmm. I'd also love to know why he's paying 10 days after his pay day as that means I don't get the money until the following month which is annoying.
Thanks again, I'll let you know if I find out anything useful.

they get give something like three weeks to make the payments, it is absurd. exh gets paid end of the month, but it isn't due until 21st or something stupid like that. It's the law apparently Hmm

Well the whole system is clearly just a joke!
When he first started paying he claimed he'd already paid me a month in advance (he hadn't). Their answer to my disagreement with this... to only take half the payment for that first month to please both of us?! Not sure how that was ever for the good of me or my son?! Hmm
He gets paid on 15th of the month, but has set up the DD to them on 25th? I now get my payments around 10th of the following month! So he's actually always paying in arrears now, and clearly for no reason other than to make it more awkward for me.
To clarify things for anyone unsure about the weeks though, I have now had it confirmed that as the amount is weekly but paid monthly, it should be calculated on a 52 week basis (so if yours isn't, get them to check it!). so for example, if you get £75 per week, that should be £325 a month (£75 x 52 weeks / 12 months). Don't let them get away with £300 a month as that's only 48 weeks. It might not sound much, but that's £300 a year difference!
