"Rights" to a refund after 28 days with online shopping?

I glanced at a magazine article today but it didn't quite sink in.
I'm almost certain it said that an online company sings up to an agreement that if they fail to supply goods within 28 days of order being placed, the customer is entitled to a full refund.
Does anyone know if this is true?
TIA

yes it applies to all websites more or less for goods, it's part of the distance Selling Regulations..you also have a right to cancel but if you have recieved the goods then they may not refund the postage for sending out or return (should be clearly described on the website Terms and Conditions)

AFAIK, you have the right to a full refund, but will more than likely have to write and ask for it-they wont automatically do it.

Is it better to complain by letter or email I wonder?

im cs and deal with emails and calls. Guess it depends on the company. We try to deal with all emails within 24hours, which would be faster than letter (with posting etc)

Thanks for replies.
This company are not responding to any emails or phone calls.
Doesn't look good does it?

If you don't get an adequate response from the company concerned (obviously won't be any response at the mo because of Xmas)

then you should be able to get a chargeback if you paid by credit card..was it a purchase of more than £100.00?

CaRowlers · 24/12/2005 18:13

It was about £75 and I think we payed using switch card online.
Will wait for the mo to see if anything happens after Christmas.
Have sent an initial email of complaint.
Ta folks!

who was it?

CaRowlers · 26/12/2005 14:31

A company called "Calendar in a box"
We bought the calendars through another company's website - they are called Freequizzes and appear to be extremely embarrassed by the poor service of CIAB.
Freequizzes pay CIAB for personalised calendars.
The website guaranteed delivery of calendars befor Christmas if ordered before Nov 30th.
Only one of 7 ordered actually arrived.
And it was damaged.
Have emailed my complaints and await a reply in the next few days.
I hope ...

Have you got a physical address for them?
