Do we really need £25,000?

Saw on BBC that parents now need 20% more to get by.

Just tried the calculator it links to and me and my dh apparently need over £25,000 a year to get by. It's absolutely mad! He earns £23k (I'm not working atm) and we even manage to get out for a meal once in a while.

Anyone else think it's really optimistic?! Hmm

I'll swap them with your clubs! Did you see the culture section: freeview box and two "other childrens" presents, £4 for kids craft!

That is a fascinating list. I see I am meant to wear blouses. And only one dress. And two dressing gowns which last for 2 years whereas men have one for 10 years Hmm.

DS doing well on the PE clothes front - has had the same ones for 3 years so far (is in year2) and they still fit Grin. Went for big to start with.

A baking tray is meant to last 10 years.

And better not let the children know I am meant to spend £450 on birthday presents, although I presume that is between them.

So I think I spend more than average on a few things and rather less on others.

Love how a 99p baking tray is going to last 10 years, more like 10 minutes Hmm

Ahhh look the old argument is solved apparently we should have a loo brush and it should last 5 years of cleaning poo too Grin
