Hi.
When DS was born, DH was just about to be made unemployed (great timing!) anyway, despite having very reduced income (his was main income) we were told that our entitlement would be based on previous years earnings (09-10). So 2010-2011 was very tough. DH retrained and is now about to start a new job but we have now recieved a letter saying that instead of this years payments being based on last year (10-11 when we had no money) they will now be based on predicted income of 2011- 2012!
So, as DH will be working, our entitlement will go down again. Is this right???
It seems very unfair. 2010-2011 our toughest year financially is being ignored!?

Any ideas if this is correct? Is there anything we can do to caim lost entitlements?

Hope that wasn't too confusing!
Thanks

If his income in 2011/12 will be £10k more than he earned in the previous tax year you will be over the disregard so will have to use this years estimated income. You need to get it correct as if you under estimate you will owe them money.
