Is this pricing at HomeSense completely bonkers - and legal?

Went to Homesense today and there were 3 garden chairs each priced at £19.99. When I asked if they had a 4th, they said no, but I saw some identical ones on another display, this time priced at £29.99.

They were the same chairs, not part of a set, i.e. each piece could be bought separately, but when I asked why these ones were more expensive I was told that they had come into the store at different times and were priced according to the prices the buyers had put on them before sending out to the stores. Therefore, they couldn't sell me any of the chairs for £19.99 like the other 3 had been.

Is this right???

They can offer them for sale at whatever price they like. The first batch may have been a special purchase. Out of goodwill (and to make the sale) the manager could have used his/her discretion to give you a 4th at the lower price but it comes off his bottom line profit (and bonus) .

Ok fair enough. I dealt with 2 very young assistants who were a bit with my query. Am going back later this week so might ask manager then. Cheers
