Credit Scoring - HELP!!!!!

FangAche · 14/10/2005 11:42

I just got my credit score from Experian. It was 866 out of 1000..... they said that was fair on the scale of Bad to Good credit.

What does this mean to me??? I'm confused.

There is also something on my file that says I missed up to 4 payments back in 2002... but I don't remember missing any payments on ANYTHING.... apart from a Barclaycard I defaulted on in 1997.... which was removed from my credit report in 2003. I've sent a query to Experian, so we'll see what happens with that.

And could I have a good score with Experian.... but have a TERRIBLE score with Equifax (or another company)?

TIA

YES!

Really you should get copies of both. I knew someone who had their mortgage on one and not the other and the same with car finance.

We've just got ours after being declined for a buy now pay later. We've had a ton of stuff taken off and found out that my FIL's credit cards have been registered under my dh's name.

MC30 - Thanks for that. Could my score with Equifax be vastly different?

Oh I hope its okay. I want to put an offer on a house on Monday and I need a mortgage promise ASAP! I've never missed a mortgage payment so surely it'll be ok.
