Hi

Does anyone know what earnings i need to put down for my housing benefit and tax credits when im receiving maternity allowance? If its a non taxable benefit do I put £0 but still say im employed, which I will be. Very confused.

It may be non taxable but it's still income so for housing benefit you put down the amount inculding SMA.

For tax credits you can deduct £100 per week SMA (it may be the full amount but I seem to remember it was only £100 per week)

Should be a section in the housing benefit form where they refer to benefits received and you have to declare it there. It still counts as income so you declare the full amount. For tax credits you do not have to declare it as income as it is non-taxable.
