I am trying to work out how to improve our financial situation - DH is s/e and earning very little at present '

I work sessionaly which is sporadic and has recently dropped to almost nothing and am employed for three days a week .
I am trying to work out if I would be better off taking a lower hourly rate paid but more permanent job, with more hours whilst he builds up a new business

However the HMCR website does not seem to tally with what we already get at present or update when I decreased and increased our income Confused.

Any advice - looked at entitled to and that gave different amounts again [bconfused]

The HMRC website is not fully up to date with the changes that are happening this month which is why you might get a different number from your award. Regarding the decrease/increase in income, it has to 'trip' you over or under a threshold to make a difference to your award. In the past, for example, if your household income was anything between £25k and £55k the award was exactly the same.... only when the income total dipped below about £25k did it start to make a difference.
