Reclaiming PPI - how long are phone recordings kept for?

I am opening a claim against my credit card company for misselling PPI. I was sold something that was no use and also experienced hard-sell to get me to take it out.

If it comes to a dispute over what was said, is there any chance they will still have the phone recording? It was 6 or 7 years ago. Could be useful to prove my point.

You may find more answers on the moneysavingexpert site. I know that there are blank letters to download in the main section, but there is also a reclaiming ppi section in the chat forum here

You may find that the company you're dealing with tries to Obstruct your claim - I don't Mean to sound negative, but when my home insurance claim was deemed to be Invalid by their Claim Department because of an answer I'd given during the call (but which I had no recollection of - it was if my DH was self employed or employed by a company, he is a builder)... I ended up requesting a copy of the call. They took months to "organise" it, in the end couldn't produce it (because I swear that part of the conversation was made up by them) and then they agreed to fund the claim.

That was with a telephone record going back 3 years when We had Originally Taken out the policy. I would do as Soccar Widow Suggested and go to a forum which is more specialised, the people at Money Saving Expert are usually brually honest but very Helpful on this sort of Thing. Good luck to you though :)

Thanks. Have had a look at MSE and will sit tight until I receive the response.
