£14,600 or £14,200, I think. Look on inlandrevenue.gov.uk to be sure.

I know it sounds a tight question. But I am thinking of childminding. Could only take one child and if it doesnt make me financially better off I cant see the point

If you already recieve tax credits look on the statement they sent you to tell you how much you will recieve, mine says if you expect your income to be below XXXX and if you expect your income to be above XXXX for 05-06. I'm sure that on the renewal form last year it was only if my income was above this amount that I had to pay back some of my tax credits. Dont know how they work it out or how much varies on personal circumstances but who does???

i'm not exactly sure on this one, but a friend who works in Safeway 16hrs a week and hubby is a postman was allowed to earn 45pound a week before her working tax credit stopped but she gets child tax credit. It probably depends on a whole range of things!

go to www.entitledto.com and you can put in your income etc and it will tell you whether you can receive and how much child tax credit etc.. its really good website as you can put in some many scenarios.. I use it all the time!

auntymandy, if you earn £5010 per year including tax and NI you are entitled to full wack working tax credit.
Are you a single parent??? If you are then you get a top up on top of the working tax credit.
If you work 30 hours+ you also recieve an extra top up.
Full wack is about £70.00 then figure out if you fall into the above.
