Does anyone know about the French legal system with regard to parental responsibility?

My dp has a dd (6 yrs old)who lives in Paris with his ex. She was a product of a short extra-marital affair and things ended badly with the ex but he sees his dd as much as possible (about 6 times a year).

He sends money over each month but the arrangement is informal. He sends cash by post which I know is crazy and yes it does get 'lost in the post' occasionally but this is by her request as if it was by cheque or some other official way it would infringe on her right to benefits.

The problem is that every so often the ex irrationally decides that dp can't see his daughter. Most recently the cash got lost in the post and she accused him of not sending it. He sent her scanned reciepts to prove that he had but he still sent her more money (via bank draught) as she was desparate).

My dp has never made the arrangement official due to being very short of cash and inability to incur more legal fees (he's in the final stages of a nasty divorce). He is concerned that she is going to refuse access again because of this last ridiculous argument. My question to you all is does anyone know how much it would cost to have a parental agreement drawn up in France (his name is on his dd's birth cert)?

Oh dear ggg that sounds hideous particularly as he's been sending cash so he has no proof (God men are so stupid sometimes). I will have to convince him to get some legal advice - thanks
