Anyone with Utility Warehouse?

Someone I know has come round and pitched it to me, trying to get me to change my utilities over. The figures she's saying I'd have to pay are cheaper, though my concern is then it just wouldn't cover the usage and I'd end up having to pay more.

Does anyone use it and think they save a lot of money. She was talking about the prepaid debit card as well where you earn 5% cashback in various shops. Any good?

We are . Obviously it is difficult to compare but the costs don't seem excessive and our dd's should cover the annual cost overall. If in doubt you can ring in your readings and adjust the payment. We've nto gone for the cashback card - you ahve to really knwo what your spending is likely to be to load it up enough in advance but not overly so that you don't give them the cash flow advantage.

Good to know that you haven't any problems with them. I'm more tempted by their card to be honest. I'd be quite happy putting money on it and using it instead of my debit card to get the 5% cashback. But they don't have Morrisons supermarket as a partner which is where most of my money goes.

Don't do it! We were with them and despite accurate readings and photographic evidence of meter readings, we ended up being fleeced and had to go to court because we just couldn't pay what they were demanding! We now have meters and it costs miles less.

AVerage bills for 3 bed detached with UW were £150 a month gas and electric combined and we are currently paying around £60/£70 and that includes the extra we are court ordered to pay that they claw back from our meter payments.

i second the 'don't do it'. They said I would need to pay £40 per month just for electric. We gave readings etc and they said we were fine and then all of a suddent I get a letter saying my dd is going up to over £400 pcm Shock and then the next month i got a letter saying it would be over £900 pcm. When you call them they say they'll sort it out but never do. I've now let them to go back to swalec and they are still saying i owe them £900 and then £400. Then they tried to give us a ccj so to save arguments i offered to pay it off monthly - they said ok but have never taken any payments despite having an active direct debit.

oh and by the way we have a small 2 bedroomed semi

I'd be taking that further blushing. There is no way you could be using that amout of fuel. I wouldn't pay them a penny; go to the ombudsman.
