switch mobile, phone and broadband
(there are cashback deals as well)
ditch sky if you have it
do online surveys if you have the time - its only a few quid a month but you can get paypal cash or JL vouchers.
meal plan (and stick to it)
take a packed lunch
walk instead of public transport
just don't go to shops

am madly trying to do all these things. DH being made redundant tomorrow. Sad

put the money away each week....then its saved, survive around it

or,tuck away all pound coins and 2 pound coins that you get in your change. amazing how fast it adds up!

ebay!

Ww are 3000 in overdraft - do you think that it is best to still try put the 100 away - dh says its counterproductive due to charges re o/d... it was my idea too just to get it out and hide it away !! will look into those options- thanks !!

i always try and have some money squirrelled away somewhere fro emergencies. not in my usual bank account either

i keep some cash hidden at home and have a separate basic account.

small amounts each week add up and wouldnt make a dent on o/d......talking £5 to £10 weekly

try valued opinions or lightspeed
always best to pay off debts especially if you are paying interest. savings interest is usually lots less, esp on small sums

If you are incurring bank charges then DEFINITELY pay off the overdraft, the bank charges will quickly outweigh any savings interest.

Have you been on MSE? Loads of good tips to save money there. In fact there is a whole forum section with people devoted to telling you where to save and where best to apply your money.

Pay off the O/d - I reduced my by £50 a month when I got paid, it slowly but surely reduced
