How much I earn should be obvious to everyone - I charge $x per half hour and it is a legitimate interview question to ask how many students I have. Therefore times one by the other and you can see exactly how well I am doing.

I can't afford to be embarrassed about money.

Dh's salary on the other hand is private between us and the bank, because he has a clause in his contract that says it is. So whether I think it is vulgar or not is irrelevant - I can't talk about it.

When it gets down to the nitty gritty, why does it matter? If people want to talk about money, can't they do that without being labelled vulgar? I have never seen a complaint that talking about leg waxing is vulgar.

By the same standards, talking about your childbirth experience is pretty vulgar, but most mothers will rabbit about that for days on end - myself included.

If something as innocuous as money is vulgar, what can we talk about?

the weather?

Do you want to see something vulgar?
