Came by recorded delivery so can only assume it may be important. Relates to a bank account held by dh when he worked for a year in France, three years ago now. My poor French simply isn't good enough to make head nor tail of it:

Monsieur,

I hope someone can make sense of this without the accents and the autocorrections of my computer which I cannot undo!

Thank you so much, in advance. Geisha

sounds like they're asking for your dh to send back any cheques, cards etc he has or those who used the account had, to conform with the legislation so you can't use a cheque on a closed account. Seems like a letter sent to all who've closed accounts. Would get your dh, as he's the account holder you say, to give them a call about this as it was recorded delivery.

Thank you blucardi. Strange as it sounds, dh's French is worse than mine. He conversed in English and cantonese during his work there. I will get him to take the letter and cards/ cheque book etc to our local hsbc.
Thank you so much for your quick reply. Geisha
