thought you had a car misdee?

misdee · 07/09/2005 18:24

we do, but once peter gets his tranplant and is reassessed by DLA, then its very6 likely he'll lose the car we currently have. so am saving now to prepare.

oh right, i understand now.

Where does the majority of your money go? Have you tried writing down everything you spend?!

Twiglett · 07/09/2005 18:25

is there any chance you can get a motability vehicle through DLA ?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 07/09/2005 18:25

oh - and stop buying nappies!!!! (LOL)

Twiglett · 07/09/2005 18:25

oops .. when I opened thread it was just your original post .. see I'm out of step .. sorry

misdee · 07/09/2005 18:28

the car we have is leased through mobility atm. but if/when the DLA mobility parts stops, atm they are letting it run whilst he is in hospital, the liklihood it will stop after tranplants which means the car will go as well.

we have baad credit history so dont want a loan.

majority of my money goes on ruibbish if i am honest. and petrol/food.

have had a look at my figures, am just wondering if its possible to live in £130 a week (1 adult, 2 kids, 1 baby)

baby is breastfed, and trying to make as much of my own food as possible for her. we use washable nappies (am selling loads at the moment, as have waaaaay too many), kids dont really need clothes at, and will only buy the basics as needed. the £130 will have to cover food, electric, gas, water bills. (council tax, rent, tv liscence is all sorted). but i have to still pay for 5hours of driving lessons that i have booked.

please give me tips on what i can do?

am taking advantage of selling board on here and ebays 5p listing days tomorrow for small items.

go thorugh your cupboards / freezer and plan meals to use all of those ingrediants....

go into superamrkets at around 3.45 on a sunday when they madly reduce everything

regularly pop into supermarket where you only plan to buy things in the reduced cupboard... can get some real bargains IF u r lucky!

how about picking blackberries and finding some kins soal who has an apple tree and places all the apples in a box outside with a sign saying help your self and make blackberry and apple crumble.... pretty cheap... VERY yummy!
